Welcome to 2017 everybody! I hope your holidays were relaxing, cheerful, and full of love. I'm sorry I haven't written lately. First, I was wrapping up a very hectic semester at university and secondly, I am recovering from shoulder surgery and I am in a sling. (currently typing with one hand...yay me!) I am so excited to leap into this new year and see what adventures lie ahead. Instead of making new year's resolutions (because everybody does that and rarely do they work out) I am going to share some revelations/thoughts that have popped into my mind lately.
1.) Don't take yourself too seriously. I think having a sense of humor is one of the best ways to manage stress and chaos. Life happens and things can go wacky, but you have to roll with the punches.
2.) Do things for yourself. Yeah, sure, this may sound selfish nut it's really not. If you don't invest time an energy into caring for your whole self, how can you expect to take care of those around you? Also, when I say do things for yourself, I also mean make yourself proud. For a lot of my life, I've always felt the need to perform well for others. I got some "good jobs" along the way, but I realized that if I don't feel proud of my hard work and accomplishments, it's really hard to be happy.
3.) You are so loved. I think one downfall to performing for others is we often subject ourselves to their judgment too much. For me, if someone seems disappointed by my performance, it's so easy for me to feel dumb, incompetent, stupid, etc. What we all have to remember is that we all have people in our lives that love us regardless of what others say. We all have people in our lives that believe in us and want us to become the very best versions of ourselves. Cherish these special people and thank them.
Happy new year! I hope this year is filled with many beautiful blessings!
XOXO
Chloe
